On Wednesday January 27^th the Minister of Defense, Pieter de Crem, together with members of the Parliament, visited EGUERMIN.

After a presentation of the Director of EGUERMIN, CDR s.g. Philippe Cornez, about the school and minewarfare in general, the Minister visited several parts of EGUERMIN.

The Minister was particularly interested in the training facilities ( Team Training Facility and wargame)

Some of the international students had the opportunity to speak with the visitors.

Since 1975 EGUERMIN provides the minewarfare courses for Belgium and the Netherlands. Both countries use the same type Minehunters, which have been upgraded recently (BeNeCup)

Besides the bi-national courses, several courses are open for NATO and other countries. (Courses)

Since 2006 EGUERMIN is accredited by NATO as “Centre of Excellence in Naval Mine Warfare”.
